For a long time now, I have been wanting to work for myself again, and over the last couple of years, have worked through several ideas such as a coffee shop in my lovely village of St Agnes; a food delivery service and becoming a business consultant.
For various reasons, I discounted all of them, until eventually I found out about being a Virtual Assistant – like a Personal Assistant, just not on your premises or payroll! I realised that my years of experience had taught me that I am extremely good at organisation, very efficient and have an ability to get things done even when it seems impossible!
I thrive on new challenges and variety, so being stuck in one role for too long has on occasion led to me becoming bored and frustrated. I hope that through Fabric, I will be able to help a variety of organisations with their administrative and managerial tasks, including change management.
As with all new ventures, this does seem a bit like standing on the edge of the diving board (I hate heights by the way) and wondering whether to take the safe option and climb down the ladder or close my eyes and dive off. Today, as Storm Imogen rages, is my launch day.

Through this blog, I will share issues that are important to me – primarily issues related to looking after our mental and physical health and preserving our planet for the future.Follow me on Twitter as well @GillPipkin.
